The Robins floor hockey squad ventured north this afternoon for a match-up with the Brainerd Warriors, and were sent home with an 8-2 loss. The Robins managed to keep this game scoreless for the first seven minutes, and at least appeared to be able to keep pace with the Warriors. An errant pass from a yellow jersey allowed the Warriors to take an easy 1-0 lead, and the goals just kept coming from there. Overall, it just turned out to be a bit of a lackluster effort from the Robins. However, they showed some fight in the third period, suddenly coming to life for 12 shots on goal and finally scoring twice. Andy Hanson was the one that found the back of the net for the Robins today, with assists being credited to Vincent Luu, Izear Joiner, Elaine Charlton and Sam Roles. Hayley Engebretsen made 31 saves, while Elaine Chalrton blocked 8 shots and Elizabeth Neuville and Kajon Terrell blocked 4 shots each. The Robins return home on Wednesday for a game with the Mounds View Rams.
