The Robins PI softball team is now 2-0 after an impressive 11-0 win over the Mounds View Rams. The Robins bats took a little while to come to life and start hitting consistently, but their defense more than made up for it. The fielding was clean and crisp for all 5 innings of this game, with just 1 fielding error. Pitcher Sam Roles was outstanding with his pitch control, striking out 3 batters while allowing just 2 hits, and fielded his position very well, accounting for 10 of the 15 possible outs in this game. Brendan Bosker-Elliott swung the biggest bat for the Robins tonight, going 3-3 with 4 RBI. Cory Tesch also was 3-3 with an RBI an 2 runs scored. Also driving in runs were Izear Joiner and Marcus Brady, with 2 RBI each. Hayley Engebretsen and Madelyn Ausk were sharp at the plate, combining for 5 walks and were consistently on base for other batters to drive in. The Robins play their final home game of the year on Wednesday against Anoka-Hennepin.
