The Robins are now 6-0 on the season after a hard fought 6-3 win over the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs. The Robins maintained a pretty high level of control over this game right from the start, but the Mustangs did a good job of keeping things just tight enough that the Robins really had to work to earn the win. The Robins held a 3-0 lead at halftime, led by a pair of first half goals from Izear Joiner. Another 3 goal spurt in the middle of the second half had the Robins leading 6-1 with 8:13 remaining, however the Mustangs added 2 goals in the final 7 minutes to keep things interesting. Joiner finished the game with 3 goals and 1 assist. Other goals were scored by Sam Roles, Brendan Bosker-Elliott and Calvin Gerdt. Assists were credited to Bosker-Elliott, Roles, Marcus Brady and goalkeeper Vincent Luu. Luu also finished the game with 18 saves. Ethan Sullivan led the defensive effort with 6 blocked shots. The Robins are on the road next Monday, at Highview Middle School, to face the Mounds View-Irondale-Roseville Rams.
