The Robins, playing without three of their usual starters, struggled mightily tonight and fell to the Osseo Orioles, 10-9. The Robins held leads of 2-0, 4-2 and 5-3 before the Orioles scored 5 runs in the fourth inning and 2 runs in the fifth inning to get the win. The Robins did try to make a come back in the 6th inning, scoring 3 runs, and loading the bases with two outs, but couldn’t manage just one more hit. The Orioles hit the ball relatively well, and made a few nice plays in the field, but ultimately, it was the 9 fielding & throwing errors that cost the Robins the game. Chaun Johnson and Tyler Sarff each notched 3 hits, with Sarff also getting 4 RBI. The Robins will host Wayzata in their home finale on Wednesday.

With a thrilling 6-5 win over the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs, the Robins have reached the midpoint of the regular season with a 4-0 record. The Robins led 5-0 after two innings and appeared ready to pull away from the Mustangs, but some timely hitting by the Anoka batters, several fielding errors by the Robins, and good defense by the Mustangs kept things close. The Robins entered the 7th inning, leading 5-2, when the Mustangs scored three runs to tie it up. In the bottom of the 7th, the Robins got things going with three straight hits to load the bases, and then Charlie Wittmer drove in the game-winning run with a single to right field. Jordan Klein was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings and allowing 2 earned runs.
