In the state championship game, the Robins faced Minneapolis and battled their way through a scoreless first half before breaking through just 1:00 into the second half on a goal by Jose Leon Estrada. Hector Vega Flores scored about 5 minutes later to give the Robins a 2-0 advantage. Estrada handled the rest of the scoring from there, finishing the game with 3 goals and leading the Robins to a 4-1 victory. The 4 goals held up largely because of an amazing defensive effort by the Robins, led by Jayda Johnson. She had an incredible game, staying calm amid all the pressure from Minneapolis while almost effortlessly clearing the ball out of the defensive zone while coordinating the defensive effort of the rest of the team. Josh Reis was stellar in the net, making 19 saves. Nick Johnson and Sean Majeski were solid all game long in the defensive wheelchair positions, making it tough for Minneapolis to get any shots on goal.

Josh Reis, Jose Leon Estrada and Jayda Johnson earned All-Tournament honors.

What an amazing season, Robins….we all are so proud of your accomplishments!
