The Robins got back on the winning track this afternoon with a fantastic game in front of a packed gym at Armstrong. The Robins’ powerful offense scored the five-run maximum in three different innings, leading them to the 16-11 win over the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs. Seventh graders Abbi Lashuay and Grady Lease led the way with identical stat lines. Both went 3 for 3 with a triple, a home run and 5 RBI. Calvin Bauman, Junior Dockter, Jose Leon Estrada and Nick Johnson all went 3 for 3, while Noah Mittendorff was 2 for 2. Johson, Lease and Estrada all scored three times each. Jayda Johnson was the winning pitcher once again while making several outstanding plays in the field. The Robins wrap up the regular season next Monday with a game at Osseo.

The Robins were handed their first loss of the season this afternoon by the defending state champion Dakota United Hawks in a non-conference matchup at Armstrong. The Hawks scored five times in the first inning, giving them all the runs they would need to secure the win as they cruised to a 16-2 victory. The power of the Hawks bats and their crisp plays in the field were simply too much for the Robins to overcome today. Nick Johnson, Micah Bomgardner, Grady Lease, Noah Mittendorff and Sean Majeski all collected two hits each, with Majeski and Mittendorff driving in 1 RBI each. The Robins will look to bounce back on Wednesday afternoon in their final home game of the season against Anoka-Hennepin.

The Robins moved to 4-0 this afternoon with a hard fought 10-6 victory over Anoka-Hennepin. The Robins started slowly at the plate today, trailing 4-1 after three innings. In the fourth inning, the tides turned, as the Robins rallied for 5 runs and took the lead for good. Jayda Johnson was the difference maker today, drawing 3 walks at the plate while having an absolutely stellar game in the field. She pitched extremely well and as a fielder played a major role in recording12 of the 21 outs in the game. Grady Lease, Abbi Lashuay and Darius Larson all went 4-4, with Lease scoring twice and hitting 2 doubles. Larson scored once and drove in 2 critical RBI. Nick Johnson had 3 hits, including a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Junior Dockter and Micah Bomgardner also finished with 2 RBI each. The win clinched first place in the North Conference for the Robins who still have three game remaining before the state tournament. The Robins are at home next week with Dakota United coming to Armstrong on Tuesday and Anoka-Hennepin on Wednesday.

The Robins are now 3-0 after a 22-11, 5-inning win over the Osseo Orioles. Today was a tough day in the field for the Robins, as they committed 9 fielding errors, but their bats were nearly unstoppable as the Robins knocked out 35 hits and scored the 5 run maximum in 4 of the 5 innings. Jose Leon Estrada, Grady Lease, Micah Bomgardner and Abbi Lashuay all went 4-4 at the plate, including a grand slam home run from Lease in the second inning. Lease finished the game with 5 RBI. Nick Johnson also hit a 2 run home run for the Robins in the first inning. Estrada, Johnson, Bomgardner, Noah Mittendorff, Darius Larson and Calvin Bauman all finished the game with 2 RBI and Lashuay finished with 3 RBI. Jayda Johnson was 2-2 with 3 runs scored in addition to being the winning pitcher. Junior Dockter and Sean Majeski both had 3 hits and 1 RBI. The Robins are at Anoka-Hennepin next Wednesday for a rematch with the Mustangs.

The Robins are now 2-0 after another 14-4, 5-inning victory, this time against the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs. The Robins defense showed significant improvement since the last game, and did a great job of limiting scoring opportunities by the Mustangs. The Robins scored the 5 run maximum in the first inning and never looked back from there. A strong second inning had the Robins in front 8-0 before the Mustangs scored their first run in the third inning. Another 5 run inning in the bottom of the third all but put the game away. The Robins middle schoolers were red-hot tonight with Grady Lease, Junior Dockter and Abbi Lashuay all going 3 for 3 at the plate. Dockter finished the game with a triple and 2 RBI, Lease had a triple and 3 RBI and Lashuay scored twice. Sophomore Noah Mittendorff was also solid again tonight, also going 3 for 3. Nick Johnson and Sean Majeski also had very solid games, with both recording 2 hits and scoring 2 times. Jayda Johnson was as good as ever on the mound, pitching all 5 innings and fielded her position extremely well. The Robins are now off until May 3rd when the travel to Osseo for a rematch with the Orioles.
